You’ve made our year in 2011. How can we do the same for you in 2012?

We would like to thank our readers for making 2011, the first full year of’s existence, a huge success.  With over 250 subscribers, well over 100,000 total page views and more and more hiking information posted, 2011 was the first of what we hope will be many banner years for this site.

But N.H.L.A. will not rest on its laurels in 2012; rather it will continue its quest to be So Cal’s best resource on hiking information.  To that end, here is our first reader’s poll, in which you are invited to provide feedback about what additions or changes you might like to see in 2012.  Additional suggestions are welcome, too.  Thanks for reading, thanks for your feedback – and see you on the trails!

  1. The trails on the Palos Verdes Peninsula do not need more ” tourist user abusers”. We need more people who will snip encroaching branches as they walk by, pick up litter, respect private property and send comments to the politicians who get to decide how much of their budget goes toward preserving trails. I dare you to find the consultant’s comments on the public’s comments about the trails in the recently acquired “Upper Filiorum Reserve” portion of the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve and speak up. The clock is ticking. Try .
