The Opt Outside movement was created to encourage alternate ways of spending Black Friday – a day that is often spent battling crowds at shopping malls. For the past few years, NHLA has organized food drive hikes on Black Friday, creating opportunities to hike, meet other hikers and give something back to the community.
We are proud to be collaborating with Walking Pasadena on this year’s Black Friday hike at Deukmejian Wilderness Park in Glendale, November 23rd at 9am. Bring a non-perishable food item and enjoy burning off those Thanksgiving calories on a challenging 2.5 mile hike into the San Gabriel foothills with great views of Los Angeles. Food will be donated to Friends In Deed in Pasadena.
